Bamboo is extremely earth-friendly and an ecological alternative to wood flooring. As a matter of fact, bamboo is harder than some wood species such as red oak or maple. But bamboo is not a product of trees. It is a fast-growing grass. Unlike hardwood trees requiring more than sixty years to mature, bamboo is renewably harvested over and over from the same rootstock. In only five years, it can grow from sprout to ready for harvesting. An acre of bamboo can provide more flooring than an acre of trees.
Yet bamboo is installed and treated much like wood and now comes in a selection of different finishes and stains, all on display in our showroom. It’s also offered as an engineered product providing even greater stability. The product is dimensionally stable and suitable for high-traffic commercial as well as residential areas – making it ideal for kitchen and living areas.
